Law firm MMG Munich

Based in the heart of Munich, the law firm MMG has specialised in the handling of claims for damages for over 30 years. The lawyers at MMG do not shy away from disputes with big names – regardless of whether they are major banks or vehicle manufacturers. Dr. Meier, one of the three owners of the law firm, specialises in antitrust law. He is one of the leading lawyers in truck cartel cases and represents over 3,000 clients from 20 countries involving more than 50,000 trucks.

Sophokles

Sophokles is a litigation cost funder that was founded in 2011. The managing director of Sophokles is the initiator of Lion Claim GmbH. Since its foundation, Sophokles has funded and supported numerous claims for damages. Originally specialising in claims for damages against financial service providers, Sophokles began acquiring claims against the truck cartel in 2017 and filed a lawsuit for 600 haulage firms with over 11,000 truck claims before the Munich Regional Court in 2018. Sophokles has also funded and supported claims for repayment of overpaid truck tolls and various lawsuits in the diesel scandal.

Shelter Truck

Shelter Truck Holding, LLC is a special purpose entity that was established to fund and purchase claims for damages in the truck cartel. Endowed with a two-digit million sum, Shelter has sufficient financial resources to conduct even lengthy and cost-intensive proceedings with ease. Shelter is backed by the New York investment firm Haybeach, which is managed by financial experts Neil Desai and Bradly Schwab. In the last eight years, Haybeach has raised over USD 300 million in capital and used it to fund various projects.
